Halloween Fun

Its hard to believe Halloween has already come and gone! We had 2 Halloween parties again this year; one for the adults and one for all of the kids! The kid party was a bigger hit so next year we won't be having an adult party, its cheaper for us to just dress up and go out for the evening than to put on the party!

So this year Jakob was a GI Joe Ninja, Andrew was Batman and Cecelia was a little LadyBug! They were all so cute and they had a wonderful time! Since Halloween was on a Saturday this year the Corby's went trick or treating with us here in Pavilio. We went to all teh relatives and close friend's houses and then we went in town around the block. By the time we got home ALL of us were very tired. As usual my sisters went with us (Cooley, Missy and Stephie). Don't know what I would do with

out those girls!

The Apple Umpkin Festival

The Apple Umpkin Festival is always the last full weekend of September. We decided to go on Sunday instead of Saturday this year because we had Taylor and Cody and we figured all of the kids would enjoy it. Well at first none of them wanted to go LOL! But when the time finally came all of them decided they did want to go and they had a blast!

We got taffy and Josh bought them a fried dough. We stopped down st Sue and Skip Coon's like we do every year and has some of Sue's YUMMY homemade chicken noodle soup! And of course Grandma Cooley had some of her sugar cookies there and the kiddos were quick to gobble them up! All in all it was a fun day. We stopped along the way and had a "photo shoot." The kids loved it, however Cece didn't cooperate very well but those of you that know my little princess well should not be very surprised. =-)

Memory Walk 2009

Stephanie invited me to walk with her for this years Memory Walk on Sept 26th. The event raises money for the Alzheimer's Association. My Aunt Cindy's mother just passed away on September 15th and she had Alzheimer's. So when I called Baltz Concrete for sponsorship Uncle Nick told me I should call Aunt Cindy to see if she wanted to walk with us. I did and she said absolutely. It was emotional but it was such a wonderful, beautiful day and the walk was really nice. It was a 3.5 mile walk along the Erie Canal and then into the Genesee Valley Park in Rochester. This is something we definitely do every year from now on. And I am walking with Mike, Aunt Jo and Taylor on October 18th for a Cancer Walk too but that one is 6 miles. I am a walking fool, LOL!! All in the name of charity and Cancer is sadly a disease that has impacted our family dramatically.

Are you ready for some football?

Cece had lots of fun at the game. This is Zacky's helmet she has on, she was hamming it up, for sure she knew how cute she was with it on!
Connor all siuted up and ready for his game! I will get pics of the other 2 boys at the next game I go to.

I love this pic of Aunt Elaine and the Don!
Getting ready to start the game. The little cheerleaders are just too darn cute! Cece loved watchign them, I think we have a future rah-rah in the making!

All in all we had a great time at the games. I still need to go to another one so I can see Tyler play and see Zack play a little longer than I did.

1966 Ford 350

On Saturday we went to pick up Rory's truck. He is so, so, so excited! The kids love it too unfortunately it only has 2 seat belts, one for the driver and one for the passenger so they all can't ride at the same time.

He is so proud of his truck! I am happy for him, he works hard for all of us, he deserves to be spoiled sometimes.
I have driven it twice so far. I have to admit I was a little nervous but it drives great. Its standard but thats what I learned to drive on so that was ok. But it still surprised me, the standard works much differently because it is such an old truck, it actually way easier. Guess its just more proof that life just keeps getting harder! =-)

The Kindergartener and the Third Grader

We're ready for our first day!

September 9, 2009

School had a late start this year for us because Labor Day came a little later than normal. The first day they both came home very excited about school. Drew did get a little sad during the day but his teacher, Mrs Bell called and asked if Jakob could stop into the classroom before he went to lunch to help cheer Drew up. So being a wonderful big brother Jake did stop in and visit and Drew felt much better. Drew has made friends already and lucky for him he already had someone he knew in his class! My good friend Danielle's daughter Lilya, who is an absolute doll and took it on as a mission to complete to help Drew feel comfortable. She has done a great job! Drew calls her one of his best buddies.

Drew gets to ride Jake's bus!

Jake loves third grade! His teacher is Mrs Deaton, she is new to the district so we didn't know her before the school year but Jake really likes her a lot. He has some old friends in his class but he is also making new friends too. He has such a wonderful personality, it helps him to make friends easily.

Cecelia however is NOT very happy about the recent changes and believe me she has no problem letting us all know just how unhappy all of this makes her!! She got very accustomed to having everyone home with her all summer. Over the summer I babysat Aunt Elaine's boys 3 days a week so the Princess was surrounded by all "her boys" and she loved it. Now with the Corby boys not coming over, Jake and Drew in school all day and Mommy going to college 2 days a week she is fit to be tied. Missy and I ride to class together to help save on gas. Well now its gotten to the point that every time Cece sees Missy she starts crying because she knows that means she is going to the sitters!! Don't get me wrong she loves both of her babysitters very much but she just wishes Mommy could stay there with her, LOL!
A great first day of school!

So, I am taking 2 classes this semester as well. I signed up for a beginning personal fitness class as well as anatomy and physiology. Its a total of 6 credit hours, keeping me at a part time status. I did my acceptance letter into the Nursing Program so I will begin that full time in January. I am very excited! I am so busy this semester, this anatomy and physiology class is like a pre-med course!! Thankfully Missy and I are taking it together so we can keep each other on track. I am also busy just trying to keep the house in order and the family in line. I could never do it without Rory, I am so thankful for him.
Rory is busy working hard and being a wonderful father and husband, so its almost like working 3 full time jobs for him!! He is in the process of buying a 1966 Ford pick up turck from his Dad. He is so excited. He told me he wants to take me for a drive when he gets it, just me and him. ♥
He is also busy with prjoects at the house. He and Donny have put 5 of the 7 new windows in upstairs. Hopefully it will make a big difference this winter. They will put the other 2 in when it gets colder and the bees are hibernating since there is huge hive right outside the windows.
That about sums it up for us lately!
~Good times at the Bathrick house~

Our New Blog!

Ok Kathleeny, I finally got it started! It took me forever to come up with a name for the blog though but I settled on Love With A Dash of Fun since I thought that really described our family. This blog will be perfect too because it will encourage me to take more pictures and really archive our family life. I think our friends and family will really enjoy it as well. I am going to do a quick post about the first day of school for Jake and Drew.
I look forward to playing around on here and keeping everyone posted on our crazy, tragic, sometimes almost magic, awful, beautiful family!
